Mid century Afghan maymane kelleghi kilim composed of a stepped-diamond pattern in light and dark blues, ivory, and ochres. The minor borders are composed of interlocking combs in blues, browns, ochres, and reds, while the main border continues the diamond theme on a smaller scale. The outer borders lend a nice punch with a red-outlined sawtooth design in alternating colors.

This Maimana kilim was woven in northern Afghanistan during the second quarter of the 20th century. 

It is composed of a stepped-diamond pattern in light and dark blues, ivory, and ochres. The minor borders are composed of interlocking combs in blues, browns, ochres, and reds, while the main border continues the diamond theme on a smaller scale. The outer borders lend a nice punch with a red-outlined sawtooth design in alternating colors. 

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age, with original skirt-borer ends. Flatwoven, with a sturdy handle. Excellent rug for high traffic areas.
