Antique W Persian Farahan Sarouk area rug composed of a inky blue central medallion placed on an earthy terracotta color field. Very dainty and fine curvilinear tendrils and floral vines make up the overall design, and the whole is framed by four scalloped cornices woven in light blue. The border is composed of an equally elegant floral meander featuring an excellent use of rosettes.

Farahan Sarouk rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century. 

This stunning rug is composed of an inky blue central medallion placed on an earthy terracotta color field. Very dainty and fine curvilinear tendrils and floral vines make up the overall design, and the whole is framed by four scalloped cornices woven in light blue. The border is composed of an equally elegant floral meander featuring an excellent use of rosettes. 

In good condition, with some areas where the pile has worn down (pictured); the foundation is still intact and the design is still visible. The pile is low, with a light but dense handle.
