This Gabbeh rug was handwoven in Southern Iran during the 21st century.
It features a variety of rectilinear shapes overlapping and interacting in various ways on a beige field. It is reminiscent of an abstracted village scene with flora and fauna in the spaces between the squares or homes. A large blue rectangle is prominently featured in the center of the composition both breaking it up and adding a point go order. The pile is densely woven, making this a plush rug.
The condition is excellent unused condition, with no signs of wear.
*This rug and many of the rugs in our 21st Century Gabbeh collection are not kept on site at our Williamsburg showroom. If you would like to visit the rug in person just let us know and we can bring it to the showroom for viewing (usually within 24 hours)
